Cosmetic Interventions: GMC Guidance for Doctors Offering Cosmetic Treatments

April 12th, 2016

After the Government failed to address the need for strict regulation of the cosmetics industry it is a breath of fresh air to see the General Medical Council, who regulate doctors working in the UK, develop cosmetic interventions guidance for its registrants who work within the cosmetics industry.

The guidance should be followed by all doctors who offer not only surgical procedures but also those who offer non surgical treatments such as Botox and dermal fillers.

We only hope it is a matter of time before the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the General Dental Council issue similar guidance for its registrants who offer cosmetic procedures.
