The Rise in Procedures throughout the UK and America

Botox is the fastest growing cosmetic treatment in the UK and is more popular with women than men. Non-surgical procedures such as Botox accounted for 90% of procedures carried out in the UK in 2013 and 75% of the market value. In the USA, 6.3 million Botox injections were given in 2013, which was a 3% increase from 2012. This is a 700% increase since 2000, showing just how popular the solution for smoothing out wrinkles and preventing aging really is. Why is Botox Becoming So Popular?

There are a list of reasons why Botox has become so popular over the last 10 years and caused an influx in cosmetic procedures. While Botox guarantees a quick-fix that displays results within 2-3 days, it is a relatively inexpensive procedure. This appeals to those who want to look younger straight away, and see a difference in a short amount of time. The fact that it does not cost as much as other procedures is also a massive benefit as it means it is more accessible to the public.

Botox is a non-surgical procedure which, when performed by a qualified doctor, dentist or nurse, lessons the risks of anything going wrong. This puts people’s minds at ease as there is almost no chance of the procedure not going as planned. This also means that the whole procedure takes so little time that it can be completed in a lunch break. It is accessible and hassle-free, and produces unrivalled outcomes.

With the results only lasting around 3 months at a time, patients do not need to be as committed as they would need to be if undergoing cosmetic surgery. This adds a flexibility to the treatment and appeals to a lot of people. It also means than the treatment needs to be “topped up” after a certain amount of time, but the temporary nature of Botox makes it more appealing to the masses. Of course, the main reason for Botox is the youthful look it gives, taking away wrinkles and lifting up skin, an attribute that is desired by many.
