Why do I get dynamic wrinkles?

As we smile and laugh, frown and raise our eyebrows, the muscles of our face contract. As this happens our skin also contracts forming wrinkles. The more the muscle contracts, the more that these lines appear. As we age, these lines can worsen and become static line which are visible even when we are not smiling or frowning.

What is the best treatment?

Often the best treatment for this is a botox injection. Botox relaxes the muscle so that it cannot move as effectively leaving the overlying skin smoother and unable to create lines. Any static lines that are present before treatment may still be there after the treatment and will need to be addressed using other treatments such as dermal fillers or dermaroller. Botox injections can also be used to combat excessive sweating from the underarm.
